When I first screwed this bulb in, I found it never touched the bottom, so I took it off and examined the bulb to see if it had a bent, loose metal cap; THIS IS NOT. So I don't know why it will curl up, and I'll never find that it can't go any further than the ground. I assume the thread is a bit loose. !And part of the description says "60W total power consumption with 6000 lumens output makes this LED bulb super bright."; YES, THIS IS THE PART THAT SOLD ME WHEN I TRYED THIS BULB. MY GARAGE HAS NEVER BEEN SO WELL LIGHTED AS I WILL BUY ONE OF THESE NEW LED LIGHTS. I actually bought a four pack. I will use the other three as birthday gifts. I can't wait for them to make similar bulbs suitable for wet conditions. I can hang one on a headlight wire. However, if it doesn't say it can be used in a humid environment, it might be silly. And yes, when the bulbs say they're usually good for steam in the bath and shower; I also think that if you carry it under the house where it's damp from a leak or something; Well I have to say that the bulb is designed for use in wet conditions.
