Review on Adjustable Lap Desk Cushions Writing Laptop Accessories by Ron Long

Perfect for my needs

I have an HP EliteBook 8760w Mobile Workstation, which is a large, heavy business laptop weighing 7.80 pounds. Its body measures 16.4 inches by 10.7 inches. It's more suited for the desk, but I like to use it on my lap while watching TV. It gets hot on my knees but if I put a pillow underneath it sinks and the vents get blocked. This adjustable lap table turned out to be a great solution. EliteBook just fits on it. The body of the laptop hangs about half an inch on each side, but the rubber pads on the bottom of the laptop make contact with the lap rest and keep it from shifting, even at steep angles. The tab on the front of the lap table also helps with stability, preventing the laptop from sliding forward, so I didn't have any issues with that. Not much heat is transferred through the body of the lap table as it is two layers of plastic with an air space in between. That is, with the upper part closed. There's a lot more air when the top is adjusted from a flat to a raised angle. Despite this, the knee pad still cannot transfer heat to the user as thick, comfortable pads are fitted underneath to provide enough insulation and air space between the pad and the knees. This item is well designed, well made and durable. I highly recommend it.
