High quality laptop hard drive form factor 2.5. This unit also revs faster than the factory Toshiba that failed. After the installation I had to change the disk partitions. I found AOMEI Partition Assistant (http://www.aomeitech.com/aomei-partition-assistant.html) to be the best for repartitioning a hard drive. It was easy, fast and free. You need such software when you want to merge two different partitions into one and they are not adjacent but separated by partition like system or recovery partition which you cannot merge. Very easy to use and works great with this hard drive. I've had good luck with Western Digital 3.5 form factor desktop drives in the past.
