I ordered these for my kids and their cousins. I quickly tested all of them and they all worked. Four or so were "sticky" in the sense that you had to press the button a few times for them to go away. I think the kids will love them. Also, it would be nice to have extra accessories around the house that I can take with me when I need to take a quick reading. I am very happy with it.
