This dark green ceramic butter dish is perfect for a pound of butter - whether it's a whole pound or four quarter-pound sticks. It says "OIL" on the side, so it's easy to spot. The lid is made from lightweight bamboo with a slot for the included small butter spatula. The knife, which is larger than a cheese knife, has a cream colored beaded handle with a stainless steel blade. It's best to keep the blade in a utensil drawer, as it keeps falling off when you lift the lid off the oiler. This top has a slim fit with silicone lining around the hem for a snug fit. Unfortunately, this bamboo lid doesn't fit the bowl snugly, simply because the silicone gasket is too big to hold the lid in place. However, the top fits well enough to keep crawling crawlies out of the oil. Once the butter has softened to room temperature, you need to mash the butter with a spatula so the butter gets deep into the slab and the top fits as snugly as possible. This ceramic plate is easy to clean and dishwasher safe. The top and butter knife must be hand washed to keep them like new. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
