These valves work great. The end that fits over the hose is *slightly* slightly narrower than the bite valve that came with my camelbak (which is at least 10-12 years old). So it sits a little "tighter". I actually bought these to use with some HydraPak soft flasks (https://smile.amazon.com/Hydrapak-Ultraflask-Flask-Malibu-300ml/dp/B01N7XLYE9/) because the bite valves used have a very narrow opening have to fit more effort to drink from them. In my case I use soft bottles to hold the gel which is *really* difficult to push through the standard bite valve. These Camelbak valves fit VERY snugly on the Hydrapak bottles, but they stretch enough to get in there. These valves make it much easier to remove the gel (or water) from the bottles. Also, the hole on the "bite" part of the valve isn't as wide as my 12 year old bit valve. But I took a utility knife (a razor blade or pocket knife would work too - the sharper the better) and widened the "gap" a bit on each side. Now it opens as wide as my original valve.
