My baby is small for his age so we made him just one size bigger. Big mistake. Even a size up was too small to wear. So we went back and went up two sizes to XL as suggested by other reviews. It fits, but it's definitely tight. When we have a growth spurt, we need to increase size again. My little one is 16lbs and is not chubby at all and the size XL we bought says 28-31lbs! However, the side buttons definitely help in getting the suit on and off. I might try stretching the elastic bands a bit to get more use out of this pair.
