Review on Set Of 10 Retrofit Recessed Downlight C Clips With Metal Screws - Ideal For Down Light Can Installation (Includes 5 Pairs) by Rodrigo Harrison

Easy install. Great product. Read for details.

I replaced all the old indoor recessed flood lights in our house with retrofit LED lights that the have metal spring-arm connectors. Our recessed cans were an unusual style without C (torsion) clips, so I purchased these. I was prepared for a tedious job, but I am so pleased that they were very easy to install. For the first light, I drilled the holes too high, so my LED light kept sliding out of the recessed can. I removed and lowered the clips and it worked perfectly. All the rest were very fast. These C clips worked great, and I had no trouble with the screws. They are good quality and did the job I needed. Our metal recessed cans have a removable cone-shaped metal insert in them. I was able to install these C-clips onto that removable metal cone, which allowed me to avoid working over my head in the ceiling (which I was grateful for).I made a little paper template with a hole in it and used a Sharpie marker to mark drill holes 1.25” up from the bottom edge of each metal cone insert (two for each light). That height worked perfectly for my retrofit LED lights. I used a small hammer and a nail to make a dimple on the marks. That dimple kept my drill bit from slipping while I drilled the hole. I have a small drill that came in handy for this. I used a stubby screwdriver to hand-screw the C-clip on. You can attach the C-clips with either edge up; I attached them with the screw hole DOWN and the "C” part up. Installing with the hole DOWN means that you have to slide your hand (and drill) up into the can a little LESS, which makes the job a little easier than installing it in the other direction. My only complaint is that it seemed a shame to have to pay $20.77 for 20 of these simple clips (10 sets of two—each light needs two clips). But that also included the screw for each clip and the shipping, and they are good quality and did the job I needed with no issues at all. And the job that I expected to be very tedious was not tedious at all. That made the $20.77 very worth it.If my review was helpful, please let ebay know by clicking "helpful”. Thanks.
