Despite the mixed reviews on the product as there were some good reviews I decided to give the thermometer a try. I have never bought a thermometer that required me to calibrate it and compare the temperature reading to another reliable thermometer. I was expecting this thermometer to show the accurate temperature out of the box, but it doesn't. Even after calibrating according to the instructions, the thermometer was still not accurate. I repeated the calibration instructions many times and never got the exact temperature. I returned the item and found a much more reliable thermometer elsewhere. If I could give this product zero stars I would.
