good upgrade from an 8 year old 22 inch 1680 x 1050 screen

For the 23.8" model the Pros: - great picture, nice upgrade from an 8 year old 22" 1680x1050 screen. Worth upgrading if you currently use something like this. No issues with the backlight or the front panel IPS power button. There are no response time issues as far as I can tell, but I don't play a lot of FPS. Suitable for movies, StarCraft and Fallout. There's a "quick mode" in the menu if you're worried about that.

Enjoy rich, accurate and consistent colors like vibrant reds and deep blacks with an ultra-wide 178-degree viewing angle on a 1920 x 1080 Full HD display.
