This was used for a top mount for our TV which is not currently installed but will be wall mounted soon. Your TV and prefer a top mount OR if you have a TV over a mantel and don't want to spoil the mantel finish with a bottom mount. The price was good. Allows multiple angle adjustment points. Solid, thick and durable steel construction. THE BAD: Poor instructions - IKEA just likes it with a few words that don't even give away the illustrated instructions or even refer to the drawings. We had screw holes with insert and slot. If it weren't for the fact that our soundbar rests on top of our TV for stability, I'm not sure how confident I would be of this jumpsuit hanging on our wall given the amount of wobble that would otherwise occur. The screw was short and difficult to adjust, which makes us a little suspicious of the soundbar's overall stability.
