I ordered a new HP 17 inch laptop and wanted a new cooling pad for it, but couldn't find any pictures of the HP bottom cooling vents. During my research I came across this Cooler Master U3 Plus and the user positioned fans looked exactly how I wanted them so I ordered from Revain and it arrived before the new HP. Pros: Aluminum construction, variable speed fan, fits my 17 inch laptop like it was made for it. , Fans can be positioned by the user, Fans are fairly quiet at high speed, USB pass-through so you don't lose your USB port, Fan speed controller can be attached to the pillow, Non-slip surfaces to prevent the laptop from sliding under its own weight . Cons: Pad angle cannot be changed (no problem for me except YMMV), USB port is wider than usual which can cause problems with adjacent USB/cable ports, I can't find space on the panel to fit the Fan mount control. so it doesn't get in the way of the DVD tray or other cables (I have it hanging loose right now). Conclusion: Despite the disadvantages mentioned above, I love this cooling pad. Now I've set it up to direct maximum cooling airflow into the laptop's air vent and used a USB hub to correct the pad's over-wide USB pass-through connector. I can't comment on its durability (which seems promising given its design) or its use as a laptop carrier (which I'll never use), but for now I'm giving it 4.5 stars and would recommend it to anyone who needs a cooling pad. /similar attributes.
