Frustrated with the basic cork coaster, I went to my local supermarket and bought stainless steel and the only stone coasters I could find. I filled a tall thin plastic cup with lots of ice and freshly made warm sweet tea. On the stainless steel, the water pooled around the cup and made a perfect suction and lifted the stand when I went to drink. Two fingers down! Surprisingly, I had the same results with a rock-like coaster. When I found them online and saw how absorbent they are at a very affordable price I had to try them. They arrived nicely wrapped and seem very sturdy. My only concern was how well a soda can would sit on it. Having used them for over a week now I can say I am beyond impressed with this product. Never before has a coaster come up with one of our drinks. I have already recommended it to friends and family.
