I really wanted to upgrade my bedding but like other reviewers I don't like the size of the standard duvets that much the edges of the standard double bed. I found many options for inserts but not that many options for covers. I thought this plain white would be safe, but unfortunately it didn't live up to its $99 price tag. It has good drawstrings but they are only at the four corners and two midpoints on the side. Why not include the other two midpoints? The missing ties are at the top and bottom of the duvet, which seems to be the most important part you want to keep tight. My earphones have attachment loops but this case doesn't. In addition to what I consider the above design flaw, it also fell into what I now refer to as the "Covid state". After the pandemic, every item I buy online seems to be damaged in one way or another. This was no exception. I came up with an 8 inch yellow stripe along one corner that appears to be glue. Luckily it can be flipped so I can hold that side down. Also, the four overlays don't match. There are two sets with two identical but different designs. You have to look very closely to see this, but the hem is different, the material is different (one is more shiny) and one set is slightly different in color probably due to fabric differences. This is white but a warmer white, like a cotton and linen blend, and the other is a tighter satin weave. I didn't really need the panties, so they just sit in the linen closet. Out of the box they aren't soft, but I didn't expect them to be like that. I think it will soften over time. It's a bit thin. You could see through the boxes/lines of the quilt, but I'm hoping they will also soften with use as the batting gets fluffier. I plan on keeping it as I don't have better options but I'd be happier at $50.
