I bought this razor in February 2017 and just used it. I had a beard of about 8mm (I know because I trimmed it for several months). I decided to just shave again and ended up using this razor. I didn't cut my hair at all - I let him go through with it all without prep. I was surprised at how easy it was to cut through everything. Did 3 passes (used laundry soap lathered in between with Luke's warm water) and I can tell you I've never shaved better in 30 years. I don't know why DE isn't a standard razor. I've tried 3, 4, 5 blade cartridges for years and they're so much worse I can't believe it. I will never return. Is always. In fact, I would buy something prettier, like Odin's Soecial Edition. Give us the leather case option. I think this one comes with "spring" blades which are gentler (yes I read the manual and watched the youtube video first). I can't wait to try regular blades. And it's a lot cheaper than torn cartridges. Also, I have NO cuts or scrapes even though I have never used DE before. If you need 4 blades, the other 3 have to suck. This is a high quality razor. Easy to use. Doesn `t rust. Very few moving parts. It's perfect - has enough weight. Rinse PS with cold water to close pores, then aftershave - eventually it scratches. Lubricate your razor with oil and it will last longer. Dry it after use.
