Review on πŸ“· SanDisk Extreme III SD Memory Card 2GB (SDSDX3-2048-901) - Retail Package by Rushabh Bear

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fast storage, but necessity can be questionable.

Most DSLRs, including those under $1,000, have a built-in buffering system that delivers at least 3 frames per second. For this reason, photos are not immediately written directly to the card and this type of card is not needed. If you're shooting in burst mode - (how many frames at a time) then this card makes sense. Imagine you are pouring water into a pitcher with a hole in the bottom. If you fill the water faster than the water leaves the pitcher, you need this card. This allows the buffer memory to be transferred to the card more quickly. If you have a DSLR and take photos every minute, you don't need this card. Buy an inexpensive SD card with plenty of storage space. That would be good. I would also recommend the Extreme card to those with a point and shoot camera as it has almost no buffer memory that transfers photo data to the card and the camera is more dependent on the card's write speed.
