Good temperature control over 5/6 of the surface. For some reason they chose to leave a non-heating, non-cooking zone in the top left corner where the heating element plugs into the stove. It heats up but doesn't boil anything, and until you realize it's a dead zone you'll be disappointed. The other 5/6 plates heats up just fine, except the plates aren't really perfectly flat, so a thin pancake or egg runs toward the drain. You can not cook anything round - everything will turn out oblong. It's too expensive, too heavy. But it's easy to take apart for cleaning and feels solid and durable - after struggling with it in the place you plan to use it.
