I used to play a lot of basketball and other sports and sprained my ankle a few times. So when I do sports now, I always have to wear ankle protection. However, I always think that compression stockings are not tight and stable enough to support my movements. So I need something stronger. This ankle brace is enough with its laces to adjust from the inside to the desired tension. It's a little tight when you slide your foot, but it doesn't feel uncomfortable when you play basketball with it. I think it's because of the stretchy and breathable material. So considering how it works on my ankle I'm pretty happy with this brace.
