This is an easy way to extend the DC plug. I had a little problem getting it to work with my DC plug. Apparently, even a very small difference in the manufacturer's inside or outside diameter indicates that it has been difficult to ensure that these parts connect cleanly. A lamp I tried to lengthen, although the wiring didn't quite match this device. It was a bit of a hard push and pull to get them together. The end result worked. Note, however, that while they all look the same, very small differences make adapters difficult to install.
