Mounting problems with visors

Ordered today, installed next. Can't beat it Even the color matched perfectly. However, this is where it gets a little more complicated. The old visor has already been removed. The new visor came with a new cap and metal clips that hold it in place. In the attached photo, the old metal clip is on the right. The new one (left) is different and won't stay in place. The new lid shown also had different lugs that fit into the metal clips. Trying to slide the new lever assembly into place proved a daunting task. Once in the grooves in the roof area, I attempted to insert a new bracket cover into the bracket profile. This will keep the metal clips in place. It either stayed or didn't stay in place. The visor was removed but a new metal clip remained in the hole in the roof. I had to use needle nose pliers to twist and turn, being careful not to break the plastic connections on the light switch. Finally got him. I looked at the new clips and saw that they were two different types while those on the old visor were the same. So I replaced the other clip with the old one. Still couldn't snap the lid into place. Then I noticed that the new cover was different from the old one. The new lid was also different from the old lid with the square tabs that need to fit into the spring clips to hold them in place. Used the old cover and installed it successfully. Break off the tabs on the bracket cover or part of the electrical part of the vanity light. Be extremely careful if you find yourself in such a situation.
