Well it was a little smaller than the one Ikea replaced, 1/8 inch shorter and 1/4 inch lower, which isn't a big deal. The lid isn't that good because the plastic lip that goes into the jar is only on the corners in the middle, it's just a seal which leads me to believe it can't leak or stay that long. The gasket is flat and has pewter grooves which are much nicer than round ones, it is also not soft so should hold up over time. They seem to be better than other brands but I would prefer a different Ikea but they just don't make the same size anymore. Update: I used these today and 1 held 4 pounds. Roast pork cooked in an Instant Pot. I had to cut off the top piece that was sticking out over the glass but it had enough room to place the pieces on the side, the domed top helped it fit. The second contained 7 medium sized potatoes which were also cooked in a pot and tasted but didn't spill. There are still reservations about caps for a long time, but for the moment there are no problems, and if necessary I will buy them again. Update: It's been a few months now and I have no complaints, the lids are holding up well and the jar. My IKEA has a spot on one corner where the glass splinters have come loose or lifted off the edge which is odd, same defect on both. Ding, I'm gonna dump her for another set just to be on the safe side
