I was looking for the perfect desk for my home office. I had an empty space between my front door and a window that served as a gathering place and I thought of putting a table there where I could toss my briefcase or keep some papers that I expect will be needed in the drawer, would this save clutter. But my office was furnished with very high quality Amish furniture, so I didn't want to put anything in there that would conflict with the space. I searched and searched, searched locally and even considered ordering something special made from the same wood until I came across this item which was available for a fraction of what I was expecting. I almost didn't order it because I felt the quality would not be acceptable. But I can absolutely tell you that. This is excellent quality wood. And everything else about this product is of excellent quality, from the smoothness of the drawer to the sturdy construction of the legs. Assembly was not a problem, you only have to tighten the four legs at the bottom since the body that surrounds the box is in one piece. It was well packaged and arrived with no damage, scuffs or stains.
