Works well in rope sacks

Dropped a 12 ounce sack into 50ft oak a few times to get a feel for the sack and string. After such a "warm up" I easily lifted the bag onto the top oak branches. To save the beginner bad luck, I repeated the throws 6 more times and got excellent results. The oak tree here in Florida is still full of leaves, but the bag and cord floated easily through the branches and landed softly on the ground. Excellent results. After achieving this goal, I successfully repeated the process on another tree on the first try. This allowed me to run a wire between two tall trees 50 feet up, which I use for my ham radio antenna. Couldn't be easier. Here are a few things I did before throwing the bag... First, unwrap the included string (cord) that comes with the kit. Tie one end of the line to a pole or tree and pull the other end several times to remove any kinks in the line. The tension of the cord eliminates the "memory" of the cord when it is wound up during production. After the line is adequately prepared, place it in an open box or 5 gallon bucket and loosely drain the line into the container. Do not twist or wrap the line, just place it loosely in the container. At the remaining end of the leash you can tie the leash to the bag. I used the Arborist knot to attach the line to the bag. A quick YouTube search will show you how to tie this knot, which is a real joy. That's all. Now that you're ready, swing the leash and drop the bag under your arm a few times. Check YouTube again to see this technique in action. In summary, the pouches and leash worked well although I had never used anything like this before.

Pros

Cons
  • Good, but not great
