Review on πŸ“± 2-Pack KATIN Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy S7 - No-Bubble, 9H Hardness, Easy Installation by Charles Butler

The contour matches the face of the phone well but leaves an even "margin " around the edges of the screen protector

This screen protector was as easy to apply as any and its contour matched the die Features of the phone are good (cutouts for home button, speaker, microphone, front camera, etc.). Included in the box is a QR code with a link to a very short YouTube video that has few comments so far, but half of them mention that the edges and sides don't stick. I prefer to use the sticker guides (hinging method) for installation, although I put the hinge on the long edge and wonder if it wouldn't be better to reduce bubbles first by using the short edge as a side hinge (YouTube video demonstrates installation). it short edge first). It went fairly easily with just a couple of large bubbles, most of which flattened out very easily and the last one, in the bottom corner, flattened out after a few minutes and enough pressure. When a protector is sealed well, it becomes virtually invisible (a dark screen is just as dark as it would be without a protector and will not obscure or reduce a bright screen). However, I quickly noticed that this protector leaves an even visible border around its perimeter that doesn't go away unless the screen is as dark as the parts stuck on. That is, light reflects slightly differently from the boundary of that tread. I suspect the YouTube comments talk about this, in the sense that you don't expect to see or notice this effect when the adhesive extends to the edges of the tread. It's so even (about 2mm on each vertical edge and about 1mm at the top and bottom) that it's clearly not an installation issue, presumably a design feature rather than a defect. Maybe this will help get rid of the bubbles by only sticking "almost" to the edges of the tread? In any case, this doesn't affect the overall fit of the phone screen as it's only around the edges. This is most noticeable when the screen is dark and is very faint when viewing the screen directly. Since it's so uniform it doesn't bother me (like bubbles or cracks in the glass) but it was a replacement for the old Alpha Glass screen protector that covered the screen completely and evenly without that "bezel effect" so if you that bothers then maybe this one Kathin is not your protector. I will say that the Alpha Glass S7 screen protector I used worked very very well and saved my screen from damage several times (in combination with the Otterbox Symmetry case) so I guess we'll see, how this katin behaves in the long term . .
