I bought these pants for my tall and thin girl. It is of very good quality, soft and warm. She usually wears size 8 pants so I bought a Med 7/8. It shrank a half inch to 22 1/2 feet at the waist and 24 1/2 feet at the inseam after washing in cold water and putting it in the dryer. It's a little loose and long, but not by much. I think my daughter will wear these pants for 2 to 3 years. Lots of stretch in the waist. I also bought a Big 10/12. For those interested in plus sizes, 26" waist and 28" inseam, prewashed. There is about a 3 inch difference between Medium and Large, which I think is a lot. A small adult easily fits a large one. Overall the pants are good quality but I wish there wasn't such a big difference in the next size up.
