This is the perfect compass for the boy scouts. Yes, you can set the declination offset from magnetic north. I'm not sure what the other reviews said. I bought two of these from a third party here at Revain, TurnOnSport. Both compasses are inexpensive because the rotating compass ring simply snaps onto plastic tabs. But what do you expect for 8€? It's perfect for my two scouts who will probably lose them again (reason for this purchase). But it's the perfect compass for basic orientation. It is accurate, you can adjust the declination, there is a magnifying glass and a cord. I am happy with my purchase.
