Great Vegan Sunscreen

Every summer I spend weeks or even months looking for a "clean" sunscreen that meets my needs. I came across Jivi on sale and after checking the ingredients decided to give it a try. Pros: Fresh, clean scent. Vegan sunscreen with zinc, mostly organic and natural ingredients. The easy-to-use pump leaves hardly any cloudiness on fair skin. I have oily combination skin and have never had breakouts. How sunscreen works as intended. Cons: Contains "emulsifying wax” which is a vague term and can have contamination issues. Supposed to be moisturizing but I found it drying. It rises a little thick, but I find using a few pea-sized amounts works well. Overall, as a face sunscreen, this is the cleanest vegan option I've found and it works well. My boyfriend and I went to a Christmas party in July that was mostly outdoors. I applied it before a 45 minute car ride and while driving (three or four hours) and got no burns. Again, I have fair skin that burns easily (thanks to my Irish heritage). It's not very good as a daily moisturizer, so I wouldn't recommend it for that purpose. However, I've found that a little goes a long way, and as such, as a safe, natural sunscreen, it's very good value.

Pros
  • MAKE-UP PREP. The matte finish makes it easy to apply makeup that lasts all day. Plus, the light green tint fights redness so you can go makeup-free!
