Like many others, I needed this to control a lamp at the back of a large room. When I first tried to plug the receiver into the wall, it was too large in diameter to be used with another device's power adapter in the same outlet. I don't really care, but it might be frustrating for someone who doesn't expect to have to re-route/move adapters for a few things to make this receiver fit. There is a pairing process that involves pressing a button on the side of the receiver for a few seconds until the button starts blinking. The problem is that my fingers are a bit fat so my finger was bigger than the surface of the button and I couldn't see the flashing light. No big deal, I just counted to 3 and took my finger away to check. In addition, the pairing process was very easy. That's all. The remote worked on the first try and solved one of life's many little headaches. The remote control has a separate magnetic base, but I don't plan on using it. Despite the small problems mentioned, I can highly recommend this device.
