If you have an iPad or other device that doesn't initially charge wirelessly, it won't magically charge wirelessly. You need to buy a Qi charging pad, which you plug into the charging port and attach to the back of your iPad, etc. This is clearly stated in the description and pictures of this stand. I bought the stand and Qi panel shown in the photo for my iPad. Plugged a Qi Pad into the port, found a sweet spot with a regulated charger, and my iPad charges just fine.
