So I got this as part of our tornado shelter to see if it would work for our needs. Advantages: - Compact - Multifunctional - Hand grip - Battery operated - Micro USB operated / rechargeable - AM/FM radio - NOAA weather radio - Flashlight (double brightness) - Reading lamp (double brightness) - SOS signal - Power Bank 2000 mAh - AAA or batteries Cons: - None. What you get in the package: - 1 DM emergency radio This DM emergency radio has several functions. It measures approximately 6 1/4" x 3 3/4" x 2" and weighs approximately 9.9 ounces. It has a solar panel and an emergency charging handle. Also works with microUSB or AAA 1.5V batteries powered/charged. The antenna that comes with the radio is fully folded into the radio and measures 9 1/2" when fully extended. This product does not come with a USB cable or instructions. So when you receive it. You will be pleased to know that it has an internal lithium-ion battery, so it works right out of the box and doesn't require additional batteries unless you choose to put them in. The hand grip charges the internal battery, or you can use one microUSB cable charging. This radio runs on 3 AAA 1.5V batteries. Testing the grip I found that it charges the internal battery. It was fully charged so it was hard to tell if the solar panel the device actually charges. That I need to post an update. Another radio I had had a similar solar charging option but it didn't work. So it is best to charge it in advance or rotate the handle periodically as needed. The handle was smooth and folded nicely into the back of the radio. The microUSB cable allows you to charge and/or use the radio at the same time. This product must come with a microUSB cable. in which my package was not. However, I have a lot of them, so this wasn't an issue for my testing. This feature worked as expected. I fully charged the internal battery and discharged it by turning on the radio and flashlight at the same time. Full discharge with all these operations took about 8 hours. The charge of the internal battery can be seen on the right front side of the radio. There is a 4-LED blue display that shows the internal battery charge level. 4 lightbulbs is a full charge. You can activate the charging indicator by turning the radio on and off again or turning on the flash. The LED flashlight is turned on by pressing the power button on top of the radio. It's not very bright, only about 20 lumens. But it is more than enough for emergency lighting. The reading lamp is located on the back of the flashlight and rises from the left side of the radio. Once flipped, you control it with the same button as the flash. It has two brightness settings that you can toggle. That's more than enough to read. The SOS alarm is loud and effective. I checked the alarm level and it averages 80dB at 10ft, 70dB at 20ft. The SOS signal also activates the flashlight and flashes and can be turned on by simply pressing and holding the power button. The radio offers a weather section. , as well as the AM/FM bands. They all work as expected. The radio has a tuning display to help you tune into a station. The green station indicator will flash if you're not fully tuned in and turn green if you have an optimal signal. The radio has a tuning knob and a volume control. They also work as expected. The volume is adjustable from an average of 75 dB on the weather channel up to 98 dB on various radio stations. The sound is good but lacks depth. Of course it's an emergency radio. The radio also features 2 ports: - Power/Charging - USB Type-C port - USB port The ports have a silicone cover that covers the ports to keep dust and water out. The ports worked as expected. It is understood that the radio can also act as a 2000mAh power bank. Upon testing the USB port, I found that it was working properly and charged my test devices. The manufacturer states that this product is waterproof but does not provide an IP rating. At the same time, the product looks like it is made of durable ABS material and is weatherproof. The manufacturer offers a 30-day money-back guarantee as well as a 12-month warranty and 24-hour support. an emergency flashlight and a weather radio that does not rely on external batteries or electricity. This works very well. All functions worked except the solar panel could not be tested yet. But to be honest, what was most important to me worked very well. - SOS Alert - Emergency Flashlight - NOAA Weather - Long Internal Battery Life (when fully charged) I think this is a great product just because of these features. The rest is really just exaggerated. I would buy it again, it's a cheap piece of peace of mind that everyone needs in an emergency. This product is made in China.
