The ink on these pens is pigmented. The pens do not dry out like the other most common brands.Previously, I had an old box of Artelius markers in my classroom closet. I ran out of markers due to the poor quality of the other well-known brand makers. The well-known brand markers were purchased as new, but when I opened them they were all dried out and useless.Even though these markers were over three years old, they worked beautifully. None of the colors were dried out even after being three years old! Because of this, I have purchased more boxes of Artelius markers. This is a quality product at a great price!
