The product is really nice in person! It is very durable and seems/looks like it will last a long time. I am from Samoa and we have always appreciated the beauty of tortoiseshell jewelry. The Samoans put a lot of hard work, love and care into the creation of each tortoise shell bracelet. Due to my Samoan origins, this watch immediately caught my eye. Photos do not convey the full beauty and decoration of this work. Unfortunately there is a problem. The watch fits a bit on my wrist. I'm 5 feet 5 inches tall and weigh 220 pounds. I usually buy watches that are 7 1/2 inches long or have extra bars. The 7 1/2 inches allow me to wear the watch a little loose so it doesn't hug my wrist too much. For Pete, I'm a Samoan and I feel our shape doesn't take well to watches that fit snugly on our wrists because my skin bulges around the watch. That's how I feel lol. However, this watch didn't come with an extra latch, as some buyers have claimed, which sucks for me. The true length of the watch is also not given anywhere. So I bought it on the assumption that the watch might have an extra latch or that it was made long enough to fit me. For those wondering about the length, it's 7 3/4". That's why I gave it a 4-star rating. Lacking those small but important details, I could understand why some buyers were returning it or setting this item low reviewed. The sizing really helps me as a consumer in deciding where to buy or not to buy a product, especially online where I can't physically try it on. In any case, there is a thick plastic turtle shell (approx . 10mm wide) attached. Remember that these plastic parts are curved and designed to be worn on the wrist. They are not adjustable. The plastic is connected with gold-colored snaps. Disappears after a few months. A cool trick to use Some of what I do with my fake gold items (so the color doesn't fade or rub off) is to apply a small amount of clear nail polish to the gold colored ones pieces. This always works and works to not stain your jewelry also sensitive to counterfeit jewelry; My body is covered with hives. Adding clear nail polish to fake jewelry allows me to wear it. This is a win-win trick! I can wear a lot of jewelry other than real gold or silver, save money and my jewelry will last a long time! I hope I have attached pictures to help the doubters. I am happy with my purchase; Family LOVES this piece and many have asked me where I bought it. I'm almost to the point where I don't want anyone to know about this amazing find and keep it to myself lol. I even bought this watch when it was on sale (I'm guessing for Anazon's Mother's Day sale?) so it was a GREAT buy for the price! But I hope this review helps someone to make a purchase!
