A modern take on paper dolls.

These dress up dolls were a gift for my 6 year old niece and they are fantastic. Very similar to the paper dolls of the past, but the dolls and clothes aren't made of paper, which doesn't last long, they're made of wood. The set includes 2 wooden dolls (a prince and a princess), 2 doll stands and 36 clothing items, including 12 crowns (6 each), 12 tops (6 each) and 12 bottoms (6 pants for the prince and 6 skirts for the prince). Princess). Each matching prince and princess outfit matches the others and then you can mix and match to create your own outfits. The dolls and clothes are high quality and should last for years, making them a great pass-along toy. When we first played with them, we spent several hours creating different outfits and pretending to be funny. Because the clothes are magnetic, it's easy for kids of all ages to play. My 2 year old nephew joined in the fun and played with dress up dolls with his sister which makes this game great for not only girls but boys too! My niece even showed her little brother how to sew the same outfits for the prince and princess. And I can see that it's a great toy for learning colors, patterns and matching, so not only is it fun, it's educational. Both children loved these wooden dolls and I think I had as much fun as they did. I can have hours of imaginative fun with these magnetic prince and princess dress-up dolls. The only downside to these dolls is that the wooden box doesn't have a lid which makes storage a little tricky, but each piece fits back into the doll perfectly. box, so it's not too much of a problem. Overall, this is another quality Melissa & Doug toy that I highly recommend.
