Not sure what the "straw cover" description means. There is no straw in the lid. There is no straw included. With this bottle you can use a (long) straw. . . .but. . You must purchase it separately if you don't already have it. The size of this bottle is 10.75 inches. Base 2.75 inches in diameter. Although there is a foam pad on the bottom. . . It is "inside" the recess at the bottom so it has nothing to fill. The metal touches the surface, not the pads. The plastic cover is a bit difficult to unscrew. You have to remove the lid to drink from it. If you look closely at the top of the black cover. . .You will see there is a very small hole in it. You can use a strap or something if you can get it through. But there is no such thing. This is a very smooth glass. You can use it for both hot and cold dishes. Comes in a box that is easy to wrap for gifting. There is no information about washing. I'm assuming it's hand wash only. You'll definitely need a bottle brush if you don't already have one. This glass is made in China and sold on Revain by a Chinese company. At the current price twelve dollars. . . I think it's quite expensive for what it is.
