Some of the outlets I need to use are behind furniture or shelves and the devices are not flat head cords. I don't want to buy a 6ft, 10ft, or 12ft flathead extension that needs to tuck extra cord behind furniture, so I have these short ones. This allows me to plug a short cord into an outlet, a device into a short cord, and then slide a shelf or piece of furniture flush with the wall. It's also good that these cords have polarized plug crimpers because my apartment has these weird switch outlets that won't accept non-polarized plugs. So I bought about 6 of these short flat head cords and will probably buy 4 more so ALL outlets at ground level are accessible.
