I was concerned these adorable cowhide slippers would fit our grandson as he is a size 6 1/2 (21 months) and comes in sizes 5-6 and 7-8. We went for the 7-8 and due to the ribbing around the heel they not only stay on but should be worn for some time! They are well made with non-slip rubber soles. His feet get a little sweaty (we live in Florida) but sometimes we take them off to rest. He loves wearing them and we hear a lot of "mm-oo” from him, but the elastic at the back of the heel is a great idea!
