This fan is amazing! I have a large office and I put this fan in a corner of the room. I can feel air movement throughout the room, and I'm not talking slight air movement, I'm talking heavy air movement on the lowest settings! I live in a very hot area and have bought many fans, some twice the price, but never before has a fan performed as well. I went back and bought another one and am thinking of buying a third one. And whisper softly! I bought a fan for $80 along with this one. This fan is quiet, and the $80 so-called "quiet" fan is much louder. An $80 fan doesn't move air any better than a fan in a plastic box, but this fan does. I can't say enough about this fan! I don't understand 3 stars either. I've gathered a lot of fans around me and this one was a little different, but I couldn't do anything with common sense. The instructions could use a lot of improvement, but the fan is so simple that anyone can figure it out with a bit of trial and error.
