I got this lamp because it has short legs that let it protrude over the cab roof. I suspect this will help keep it a bit cooler in hot weather, but the main benefit is better visibility when there isn't flat terrain. I like that the cord is NOT twisted and is long enough to reach the front where the power is. The brightness is the same as any of the dozen beacons I've used. The only thing I don't like is that the length of the side LEDs is short. If the block was closer to a square shape, I think it would provide better side vision. The block is shaped like a donut, meaning there is a gap between the front and back light strips. This means you can pull through resonant wind at highway speeds, which can create a lot of annoying noise.
