Pro- Inexpensive, strong thread Con-very thin and slippery, upper and lower thread difficult to tension. the wound bobbin thread is thinner than the upper or normal bobbin thread. I was hoping to avoid spooling issues and uneven spools.) It's not the worst, but you want the filament to work. They say you get what you pay for, but oddly this was "expensive" compared to other cheap prewound coils in the sense that it's so finicky I just don't trust it on my projects. I don't want to waste expensive or great fabrics, spend all my time re-tensioning that finicky thread for each fabric, I need to get an even better needle thread (I already use a pretty good brand) just to save money on bobbins. Saves money, but eats thread, fabric, time and patience. So, have I really saved anything here by going cheaper? Would a slightly more expensive pre-wound filament or even a more expensive electric coil be more viable? I'll find out because I don't have time to fiddle with the bobbin tension for ten minutes every time I take the fabric off the machine. The thread on the spool does not mean that the thread is "liked". It's about trusting that the thread will work with your needle thread and fabric. That earns me a vote of no confidence. Let's hope it makes a great floss, another potential use. It's very thin and durable, so maybe all is not lost. :)
