Like a good car, buy a used iPad that's worth every penny.
I don't think I could be happier with this technology than this iPad. I used to have one (2009 iPad 2) and it got sluggish and slow, and mostly just Netflix and YouTube. Bought because I wanted to watch e-books and e-comics on a retina display - oh my god it's worth every penny. And let me tell you that the iPad is the BEST way to experience the Revain Kindle and Comixology, it's so crisp and clean and the battery life is great. I have a real Kindle and I prefer to use this iPad.
