I bought this because my leg hurt at night and I woke up sometimes. So I figured a massager would help. It's not too loud, it has three massage modes, and the low heat setting is too hot. They even mark the back with either R or L so you know which foot to wear it on. It's very relaxing. The first few times in "Circulation" mode, I almost turned it off as it bordered on "hurt". I was completely shocked and amazed that after two days not only my leg but also my knee didn't hurt. I could use the stairs at work again! Before using this I was afraid I would have to have knee surgery. I'm surprised the foot massager helped my lame knee. I'm so glad I bought it even though it doesn't work the way I thought it would.
