Review on DENSO 234 9022 Fuel Ratio Sensor by Robert Abdi

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fixed my 2012 Toyota Rav4 having codes P0136 and P0138!

I recently had codes p0136 and p0138 on my Toyota Rav4 2.5L with 2012 engine and 139000 miles. I tried clearing codes and both codes kept coming back so I decided to fix the problem myself. Codes p0136 and p0138 are now directing you to the bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor. After investigating these codes for my vehicle, I found many comments online stating that the problem was with the air/fuel ratio sensor , bank 1, sensor 1 and NOT with O2 sensor, sensor 2, bank 1 so I decided to replace the air fuel ratio sensor with this one. Denso part #234-9022. First, the night before, I sprayed the 4 screws on the heat shield over the exhaust port and the sensor itself with a PB blaster. The 12mm screws came off easily and I removed the heat shield. The sensor also unscrewed easily using my Tekton 3/8" drive and 7/8" (22mm) offset socket, which I also purchased from Revain. After applying the included lube to the sensor, I screwed it in and torqued it to about 35 ft-lbs, reinstalled the heat shield and torqued the 4 screws to about 12 ft-lbs. I have cleared the codes with my OBD-II scanner and tested all the monitors which read good and ready and I have no pending codes and no check engine light on after 2 days and 100 miles of driving. So this part worked great to clear my check engine light even though my scanner said to replace the O2 sensor!
