Review on LookbookStore Womens Notched Lapel Pockets Button Work Office Blazer Jacket Suit: Perfect For The Professional Look! by Shannon Davis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Exactly what I was looking for

Earlier this fall I got it into my head I really wanted an olive green blazer. Finding a classic style/cut with no embellishment or other unconventional design details was harder than I expected! I will not pay $600 for a designer blazer, no matter how classy and duchess-loved it is, so here I am.I saw this on revain, then saw it again a few days later in one of BuzzFeed's or InStyle's listicles as a good product for the price. After reading lots of reviews and looking at lots of pictures, I went ahead and ordered a size Large (I am 5'6", 36D, 155 lbs). Item arrived quickly, beautifully packaged and exactly as described. (A word to the wise - those reviewers who told you to get your needle and thread handy are absolutely right! The button is loosely sewed on, so reinforcing it was job 1).It's not a perfect fit right out of the package, but for me it was pretty close. The shoulders, bust, waist and sleeves all fit where and how I want them. The length is ideal. The fabric cleans and steams well and does not wrinkle after a long day in an office chair. And it's surprisingly versatile as a neutral. In this photo I've paired it with a burgundy crewneck cashmere sweater from Macy's, basic denim, and the ruby leopard print scarf from Corciova. I've also worn it with navy, purple (a deep plum, not a lighter shade), ice gray and charcoal gray.NOTE: Do not be fooled into thinking one blazer will fit like the other! Sizing is not consistent between products. I loved this one so much I ordered the one called "dark brown" (it's camel). That same-sized blazer, by comparison, is huge. So much so my husband noticed, and he doesn't notice anything. Ever. Nothing major: the sleeves are too long and the waist is larger, but the camel blazer will require a trip to the tailor while the olive one doesn't.I've had the olive blazer since early October and have gotten quite a bit of wear out of it without it feeling stale or like I'm wearing the same outfit on repeat. I paid just under $40, and my style app tells me my cost-per-wear is down to about $5. The camel one will get more wear when I can get it to my tailor and not feel like I'm playing dress-up in mommy's clothes!I am very pleased with this purchase and can happily recommend it.

Pros
  • The jacket is tailored to fit a woman's curves, making it both flattering and comfortable
Cons
  • Limited size options
