I got this cable because my phone had some problems with the 3.5mm audio and microphone cable that came with my headphones (Sennheiser 598 Cs). This cable is great for its purpose and for the price. Here are my takeaways from using this cable today: The spring on the input end provides good protection against sharp bends, but is not a strain relief. Red cable surrounded by a black braided plastic jacket. The detailing is nice; Don't think of it as a fabric cable, though. The cable is fairly flexible, but the plastic coating makes the cable try to straighten. That is, when the cable is twisted, it does not lie flat. - With the overexposed images, I wasn't clear about the colors of the cable. For reference, the connector tips are light gold, the connector bodies are matte gold (somewhere between gold and silver), and the cable is black with a red inner wire wrapped around it. Yes, the cable is properly fixed in the headphones. - Both lugs have a nice even gold finish. I can't tell how thick the coating is, but it looks very nice.
