Review on Top-Quality Tailor'S Chalk Set - 10 Pieces Of Wax-Based Fabric Markers For Sewing And Crafting, Ideal For Tailoring And Measuring Fabrics by Dave Neal

Very difficult to remove chalk lines

I bought this chalk specifically because a bunch of the reviews mentioned that it was easy to remove. This has not been my experience. I foolishly did not check it on a scrap piece of fabric but went right in and marked up the front of the denim coat I was quilting. I used the white chalk (which is very waxy) to mark lines. I have had little to no success removing it with heat. I have had some success with brushing it with a toothbrush, which has removed the intensity of the lines significantly, but it took a while. My next step is to use a stain remover before throwing it in the wash. If you're using it on the wrong side of fabric, this would work great, but any markings on the front side of the garment will be a huge headache to remove, if you can remove it at all. I would recommend a water soluble pen, which I have had no difficulty with in the past.

Pros
  • Professional plastic box packaging better protection products. 10 pieces in one box, convenient to store and use.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to use on curved or irregular surfaces
