Review on 🐱 Natural Wood Cat Litter for Long Hair Breeds by okocat by Jennifer Davis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for long-haired cats with kidney disease, but will not eliminate poop odor.

This brand can be hard to find and sometimes outrageously expensive, not because it's the holy grail of junk. NEVER pay more for it than any litter. If you can get it cheap it's great for long haired dogs. First, bad - if you need odor control, look elsewhere or mix it with another filler. When a cat drops a bomb, it's just as bad as on a carpet. I'll probably mix this with walnut litter because while I prefer this type of urine, the smell of poop lingers even when I scoop it out as soon as possible. However, this is the BEST option for long-haired cats that pee a lot. I have an old cat with very fluffy paws - any clay filler sticks to her fingers and it's terrible. Many types of non-clay cannot cope with the amount of urine in one place. It doesn't stick to her AND can absorb the insane amount of urine she produces. It clumps, although not like clay. It forms large wet clumps that are easy to remove. You need a shovel with large holes for dry pellets to fall through. You should also scoop at least daily, although the poop odor issue will make you scoop more. However, it does not smell like urine. When using these types of fillers, the liner helps a lot. Wet clumps like to get stuck in corners and are difficult to remove, but if you pull on the foil, they'll go away.
