Does what it says on the tin, very good results. Have to use a towel/washcloth on the back to actually do this but am satisfied. The cord is a little thick, but since it's a heating element, I understand the need for it. Cons: The button is right where my thumb is, so I'm constantly over it or very close. It's easy to accidentally press and change the setting while straightening. I'm not sure if this is really a "handheld" device, that's really misleading. It's too bulky for that, but I realize the name is compact compared to a much larger one. I would recommend it for medium to long beards. If your beard is about 3/4 inch shorter this may take some time as you will need to use the brush and then rotate the brush to smooth the beard with the side or back of the device (which is also hot). It works since I made shorter hair this way, but be careful because it's hot.
