Cab locks are a great idea, easy to install but they didn't work for me as they are very easy to understand. Definitely away from toddlers and older kids. Your little one only needs to see you pick the locks once and will aggressively push for them to be unlocked if you place them on the lower cabinets. I think a button somewhere off center will work better. They're not very wide. If the doors or the surface you access from the other side aren't closed, they may not fit or protrude slightly over the edge.
