Well, over the years I've had a lot of hyperpigmentation (dark scars) due to various types of acne. I saw that and thought about it. WHY NOT try something new? I liked it so much I just started using it all over my face not just the dark spots it cleared up when I was tired of using 2-3 moisturizers a day. Now. I've been using this moisturizer for two years. I know it's been a long time, but I've NEVER thought about why my face foundation kept getting lighter and lighter. I gave up the MAC NC42 (which I've had for 11 years except for the summer I went to the Bahamas and came back at 45) and switched to 40 and then my 40 got too dark for me too. ! Finally I realized that's why! I changed the formula but stayed with the brand but since I had so much left over I started using it on my dark dry cracked elbows and I've never been noticeably smoother! It's a big deal, a little is enough and it gets easier with time.
