As a mother, I don't like these boots! Okay, they're actually VERY well done. I like that the toe cap is covered to keep the snow from seeping through. It snows a lot where we live so having good shoes to keep your feet dry is a must! I love that the rear loop is large enough for an adult's toe to fit through, allowing the boot to slip off your little one's heel. The grip seems good but they are so hard to get on my kid's feet! It's so frustrating getting in and out of my baby. We ended up pulling the Tinsulate ankle boots out of the real boot and letting him wear the boot primarily for moisture protection. (Now it has no protection against cold snow) If we leave a Thinsulate boot in the boot, the boot becomes too tight and it is almost impossible to put the boots on. My 3 year old hates wearing these Tinsulate lined shoes. He makes sure they are not in his boots before putting them on. Type of destruction of the loading target. Maybe I should have bought a size up to fit in a boot with heat protection around the legs. I am very disappointed in these boots but then again maybe I should have bought the next size up to allow for the extra layer that comes with the boot. I assumed it was a size 8 WITH liner, but instead it looks more like a comfortable size 8 WITHOUT liner. I cut off the bungee cord and replaced it with regular laces, which is terrible for winter when you're constantly tying wet laces, but it was almost impossible to get your foot over the curve of the shoe as the cord is so tight and tight had shrunk immediately. as soon as you let go *Note to next-parents: Buy zip-up boots for younger children. That bungee cord is a joke. Great in theory and when on but they are so difficult to put on. He likes to dress them up himself, putting on those boots and taking them off. Maybe I just need to learn a trick to detach the bungee so it's easier to attach them to his legs. maybe i am (That's why I got three stars anyway, probably my own penchant for lightness and my own misguided way of putting it on my feet.) *I would actually buy this brand again if I could find a pair of winter boots with zippers. Lightning. instead of bungee. They are really VERY well done! When I bought them there weren't any reviews to look at but now that I've bought them I DEFINITELY recommend going up a size to have enough room for your child's foot, insulating liner and boot to guarantee. If it's too big, just throw on an extra pair of socks for extra warmth. I should have come back for a bigger pair but it's such a pain and my 3 year old couldn't wait any longer to jump in the snow!
